For the launch of ARK: Survival Evolved, Wildcard partners Snail Games have teamed up with the award-winning PIXOMONDO team, including Executive Producer Mandie Briney, the VFX Supervisor from Game Of Thrones Sven Martin, and CEO Thilo Kuther, who worked closely with the creative team from JOJX, including father+son directing team Rocky+Jackson Morton and EP Joe Care to create the concept, the script, to execute this cinematic and thrilling trailer bringing the ARK: Survival Evolved world to life.
Time for a little update that’s long overdue, it’s been super busy in my household of late. So much so my wife has stepped in to assist with inquiries (Thank you Tiania!), Commander has proven to be quite popular and I intend on continuing it’s development well into the future.
The current state of version 1.0.7 is 95% complete! I’ve had some teething issues with the new mapping system but this is now under control, just needs some UX lovin’.
Glider will receive more programming hours soon, as I begin to wrap up Commander for beta testing. Some things have been removed which may upset some, but rest assured it will return better than ever. Much talk about Dark & Light also, we’ve been watching the scene closely and may consider covering more games but 1.0.7 will still be strictly Ark only.
Patreon! yes! I have a Patreon creators page to help with the costs of hosting the Commander backend and the upcoming Hive Library (in 1.0.7). I also co-found an Ark PVE community on Discord and have dedicated servers that we play on. Commander support is also available on our Discord, pop in and say Hai!
Where did it go? It’s had a hissy fit and therefore requires replacement, in the meantime you can post in #Ark-Commander channel on Discord here.
The Discord is an Ark community called Dino Nuts which I am part owner, we are a friendly PVE community featuring The Island, Scorched Earth and Ragnarok. Occasionally we’ll fire up the SOTF machine and have a hack’n’slash event with ingame prizes etc. Please note, I am not always available for chat, however, members of the Commander team will be and are more than happy to give a helping hand.
And on that note, time to give a helping hand to Commander 107 and get it finished!
They’ve actually been in Commander since v258 dropped but we’ve been so busy preparing thousands of blueprints for HiVE I didn’t update my social points. Tsk tsk, I’ll try harder 🙂
So many new features coming to Commander it’s created a mountain of work but I will persist and get it to you. Also having some wins and some losses with Glider, I’ve been working closely with prominent Youtubers to get the finer details worked out (Check out GGFizz’s Youtube channel and Twitch!)
Glider “will” make it to release and “will” be free to the public.
And what a massive update it is! We’ve spent hours repairing, updating and adding mods to the Library in preparation for Hive.
In total there are 49 new mods, some of which had hundreds of items! (Not mentioning anyone *cough*Tao) and updated 3 popular mods as thier awesomeness shows no limit.
The database now contains 179 mods adding a whopping 7392 items to the game!!
The Library is being overhauled to introduce modlist sharing to the public, mod creators can maintain official lists and a range of import export options will become available (This also includes ACM import/export support).
Commander 1.0.7 is progressing well and I’ve implemented a lot of idea feedback received over the past few months. More commands, GUI resizing / snapping and (hopefully) configurable layouts. The GMSummon command “Replaces” spawndino (hazzah!) and RCON gets some more love. I’ll try my best to grab the latest Taming information but don’t hold your breathe, this stuff is complex. Commander startup has been improved so you don’t have time to swear at it now.
Mapping system completely re-written and will allow realtime display of Dinos. Lost dino? killed? devastated? Extract dino from backup and inject into the current savefile. Mass edit stats of every living thing and stuff it back into the savefile, happy days.
Last but not least, a Glider public release will happen once I nail a memory addressing issue, I’m basically creating a “Trainer” to control Arks viewport, it’s weird. Not terribly BattlEye friendly so, something to keep in mind.
